Vintage Japanese Satsuma Vase consumer guide 28" W x 20" HVintage handmade and hand painted Japanese vessel with slip trail painting. This piece, named for the Satsuma Province where this style originated, features a colorful painted scene depicting a nobleman one on side and a noblewoman opposite him. Both figures are seated at the seaside and are flocked on all sides by floral motif embellishments. Each shape on this piece features a generously applied moriage outline, a term used to describe the process,
