was worn on the garrison cap of active glider units until the Army combined the parachute and glider insignias into one Airborne Insignia worn by all airborne and glider-born units

and one can only imagine the amount of time and effort went into this scabbard

The right side of the blade does have some minor surface rust present and there is old pitying throughout the blade
