It bears serial number 3130 on the bottom front of the receiver

This is a German first world war Bavarian Mannschaften (Other Ranks) brass mounted tin plate (not leather) helmet known as a Pickelhaube

The “US” is faded on the front and can’t be read

The lapel devices are a lovely example of the 601st Field Artillery designators and the standard US devices

and definitely shows some age related degradation and missing material

Overall condition is good with much original paint remaining, with a makeshift chinstrap and liner. The insignia is still mostly retained. A lovely example, ready for further research and display.
