The helmet is comprised of a steel body with brass fittings, black horsehair tail, red horsehair tuft on marmouset. The helmet is all original, and comes with correct red feather plume, which might possibly be a later addition. The original leather lining is intact, but shows signs of wear from honest use and storage over the
