I am not entirely certain if this doll is vintage or antique

A few small edge chips here and there and a little a little greening to the brass pins

With a strong Bauhaus sensibility

a fabulous pair

I would guess this sensitive portrait dates to the mid 19th century or so

Signed Palmer at lower left, it seems possible to me that this was done by Apache artist Ignatius Palmer (1922 1985), who studied at the Santa Fe Indian School and is best known for painting of Apache dancers; the signature here is a close match and both the subject and style seem plausible. In any event, wonderfully graphic and also quite poignant I think and as far as paintings on fungus go, quite a
