This is an original WWII U. S. M. C. 10 Cap Blasting Machine, complete with the original handle and leather carry strap. These were used by Combat Engineers to clear obstacles during the Island Hopping Campaign in the Pacific Theater of War. The battalion participated in combat during the Battle of Guadalcanal, Eastern New Guinea, Battle of New Britain, Battle of Peleliu and the Battle of Okinawa. Following the war
