I’ve only turned up only one reference to any Clair Bolic at all—born in Caldwell
and this for me is exactly that
made using a stencil/mask (as with a theorem painting)

Later 19th century I believe, and reminding me a bit of the drawings of Wayne Blouch of Pennsylvania (which I presented in collaboration with Ricco Maresca gallery) for their specificity and singularity. Her hair, and her hands, and her tiny feet especially do it for me!
