From what I've learned these are fairly rare

but it seems quite possible it served as the original drawing upon which the printed cards were made

it would also be great with some small cut branches of ginko

but I think more specifically it's about the singular individuality of portraits and simultaneous sense of connection to broader humanity they offer

but the blocks themselves are in great shape--nice patina but very little paint loss
