they appear to have been done on cardboard painted cream in a combination of watercolor and gold paint
I love this piece as much as a sculpture as a vase

Most Wonderful Antique Inuit Doll with Hand-drawn Leather Face ebony and bone where from the late 60sPerhaps my favorite doll I've ever had, and I love a folk doll. This one is Inuit, late 19th c. or so, I believe, with the arms replaced at some point it appears, but otherwise all original, and very solid and sound. Of course the face breaks my heart hand drawn eyes, brows, and straight line of a mouth on hide with the hide cinched together to form the nose, and then a hand stitched seam running down from there like a scar.
