So here's the story: We found just the Yataghan Blades (unmarked) of the 1st model from which some enterprising scrap dealer had recycled the brass

Above the left ear interior of the apron has a stamped manufacturer's code and size ET68 indicating it was manufactured by Eisenhuttenwerk AG

the squadron was insufficiently trained for combat and it continued to train in England until it entered combat on 17 November 1942 in a strike against Saint-Nazaire

where they were tortured and executed
