when one inverts the lid and looks from the other side the very same illustration now appears as "THE CLIENT" and shows an 18th century roughneck in a tricorne hat

after further research we think it was more likely a flashing emergency vehicle stop light

and does not match the rest of the helmet with regards to patina

Here we have a relic but most appealing English seige helmet from the English Civil War of the 1640s. Very heavily rusted, this may very well have been used as a funeral helmet from some church. It also may have been recovered long after the battles, possibly left in some barn. Very old helmets are so very hard to find that in the Victorian era, they were reproduced to fill the mansions of the "new rich" of the
