The box and board are in very good structural condition and the hinges firmly attached

and all the better for the fact that it can be arranged in all sorts of different permutations

there is no real distinction at this point between masks made to be used in dances and those sold to tourists

Antique Cigar Box Wood Jointed Figure with Hand-drawn Face and One Leg Lost wooden mirror Little but hugely wonderfulThe more time I spend with this jointed figure, crafted I'd think a century and a few decades ago from cigar box scraps, the more I love it and actually even more so I think for it's missing leg, the absence of which to me at least makes it's gestures feel rather more poignant. I especially love the effect of the old labels on the wood, very worn in some areas and not much in others, making for wonderful painterly surfaces. Plus a great pencil drawn
