Each one is unique and they stack snugly inside their fantastically detailed box— depicting a woman in a dazzling interior

likely 1900s-20s

I would guess it dates to the 1960s or early 70s

Single Ball in Cage Carved Wood Whimsy Japanese monkey I believe one is ebonyI really love the roughness of this carved ball in cage whimsy; nothing fussy or perfect about it. Best is that it is in fact a bit of a failure there are a couple of splits where the wood of the sides meets the top, with a nail in one corner holding the cage together! (see photos) While it is possible the nail was a later repair, I rather think it was the work of its hard trying original maker, and for me makes this about the most tender and
