The inside of the helmet is in lovely condition with a makers label in the crown that reads GIEVES LTD

the gun's central mounting point that usually attached to a tripod now had a small mounting pin attached to it instead which was inserted into the mounting socket in the center of the wooden backpack frame and finally the bipod was folded forward

Fully marked "A. M." (Air Ministry) and Crown, "Ref. No. 5c 366 COCKPIT LAMP MkII". This rare later version has a bakelite body surrounding a rotating metal lamp housing, with a movable metal shutter with brass fittings. The top is slightly domed with the entire edge being knurled. This made it much easier to aim and use with gloved hands.
