The book plate is from a 1870 French volume I believe titled "Le Ciel" (the Sky)

and one small area of staining on the back

Wonderful Circa 1860s Ink Drawing of Towering Eagle in Period Frame dark blue which I think could beI am completely taken with drawing, which is just the right amount of strange! First this truly fabulous eagle, with fantastically detailed feathers (whoever draw this clearly got lost in the pleasures of mark making) and wonderfully striped talons, made all the greater by its relation to this little landscape and tiny house, such that it reads Godzilla like in scale. And then how this fence (perhaps) and bush (perhaps) morph into the realm of pure
