The platter measures 11 3/4" in diameter and 1" tall

This "bowl of treasures" design apparently first appeared in the 16th century

Beautifully made and very substantial, it has a wonderful stony texture and expressionistic slip decoration in grayish white. The perfect size to use for serving, to keep on the counter holding fruit and the like, or just for display. Really lovely. There is one very very tiny chip around the lip of the platter, barely noticeable; otherwise the piece is in perfect condition.
