I love that that the leaves on the flowers at the corners of the front make them look like very healthy dandelions

perfectly complemented by the abundance of deep plum fruits surrounding them--small plums I think (the right sort of greens) looking as  they've just been plucked

The yellow house is a great old German Erzgebirge one

I could look at those soulful faces all day, and then again tomorrow; what a marvelously expressive pair, super folky but quite regal at once. I purchased this one from a dealer in Tennessee, and it looks like it is signed at lower right, but the ground is so dark it is difficult to make out. Earlyish 20th century I would guess,
