Old Leather Make Do Fly Swatter with Wooden Handle and Wonderful Patina cast iron match safe published by Hachette & CiaA very beautiful thing, purchased from one of my favorite dealers in New Hampshire, who has been a source of many treasures this is a homemade fly swatter, with gorgeous leather swat, and perhaps even more gorgeous (and gorgeously worn) carved wood handle. The leather was slotted between a slit carved into the handle, then secured with a couple of iron nails, which look to have been supplemented by a couple more at some point. Perfect patina all over,
