An early cross with many features similar to those first war issue crosses, of multi piece construction with a blackened non magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver border, the obverse with a raised central swastika with the re institution date 1939 in raised numbering on the lower arm, the reverse plain with a barrel hinge and narrow banjo style pinback meeting a round
