Constructed of gilded bronze with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a central blue enameled irregular hexagonal field overlaid by a finely detailed red and white enameled Hesse lion clutching a gilt coat of arms, above gilt initials NSKK, circumscribed by a raised inscription of VOGELSBERG GELNDEFAHRT 1939 MOTOR GRUPPE HESSEN, the reverse with a missing attachment apparatus and
