This Double-Cask Rye whiskey is aged for a minimum of six months in new American oak barrels and then finished in used French Port Barrels

The fruit appears later - fresh and balanced with fresh oak

Wilderness Trail Single Barrel Rye French In 2003 the Winery movedA cask strength release of Wilderness Trails balanced rye whiskey. The spirit is made from a 56% Rye, 33% corn, and 11% Barley mash bill, giving the spirit a nice sweet structure to compliment the rye spice. Made from heritage rye grown in Kentucky and aged a minimum of four years, this is a nicely balanced rye with notes of lemon and leather on the nose, and orange custard with cloves on the palate.
