Two Civil War Army Cartridge Pouches United Republic of Instituted on 20 December 1885First cartridge pouch with an exterior in black finished leather, emboss stamped "US" within an oval frame on the front panel, strap affixed to the reverse that connects to the post on the top for a secure closure, two belt loop straps on the reverse, inside with its back cover incorporating ten individual pockets in brown canvas for the cartridges, roll bar hinge on the bottom secured in place on both sides with bronze pins, measuring 160 mm in width
