Constructed of silver plated non magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a central sword defaced by a crossed sword and mallet (symbolizing Ruhr industry) and an NSFK insignia, surrounding by searchlight beams illuminating an aircraft, and situated above an engraved dedication of GAUFLUGTAG RUHR NIEDERRHEIN ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE TEILNEHME AM 18.
