Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, around a central Heer style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42. 72 mm (w) x 53. 24 mm (h), weighing 24. 2 grams, with minor loss of finish evident, in better than very fine
