Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a central monogram of Friedrich II, the six oclock arm with a date of 1914, the twelve oclock arm with a royal crown, the centerpiece surrounded by an oak leaf, the reverse with a central inscription of FR VERDIENST IM KRIEGE (FOR MERIT IN WAR), unmarked, measuring 37. 35 mm (w) x 42. 17 mm (h), weighing 13. 5 grams, accompanied by
